Austin Telco Federal Credit Union is currently in search of a Sr. Programmer/Analyst to work alongside the Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will exhibit a proven programing and analytical background in the financial services industry, implementing solutions which sustain and enhance host applications, vendor interfaces and datastores. Accountable for programming and software development around the Symitar core processing host, the Sr. Programmer/Analyst will perform research, analysis and design of institution wide initiatives. This vital team member will collaborate with departmental stakeholders for project development and provide solutions to system and/or operational enhancements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, participation in software installations, including upgrades and patches, and overall host transaction system and third-party application administration. The Sr. Programmer/Analyst will provide critical data report distribution and support business driven analytic capabilities. The Sr. Programmer/Analyst will support internal stakeholders with data consultation, gathering, report distribution and in-depth analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with end users/business owners to evaluate, develop, test, and document report generation and requests for new or modified programs while applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
- Completes technical projects, tasks and requests as assigned by management.
- Designs digital forms leveraging SymForm and PowerFrame Docs.
- Interacts with departmental stakeholders to research, recommend, implement and support programs and directives.
- Works with vendors to implement new programs/software and troubleshoot any issues with existing programs, software or organizational initiatives.
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) testing in accordance with department programming policies.
- Works as a mentor to IT team members to develop necessary skills for programming, troubleshooting, implementing and supporting all processes, programs and software integrating with the core system.
- Participate in AML/BSA compliance training as assigned. Adhere to credit union AML/BSA policy and procedures including CTR rules and form preparation, identify and refer suspicious activity to the Compliance Department, perform OFAC comparisons, and properly identify individuals in accordance with Branch Operations procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
- 4-6 years programming experience
- In-depth understanding of the PowerOn programming structure and environment.
- Extensive working knowledge of the Symitar system and Episys data structure.
- Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Symform preferred.
- Ability of multitask, and excellent follow-through, with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams.
- Completion of Symitar programming classes a plus.
- Experience with HTML, Javascript, Java, SQL scripting, VB, C#, ASP.NET a plus.
- Knowledge of SymConnect/SymXchange a plus.
- Requirement to work nights, weekends, and/or off-hours, with minimal supervision. Month-end (ME) and quarter-end (QE) processing, including statement generation and reports, updates, etc., will require a flexible work schedule.
