  • Develop key industry insights from across lines of business, organizing information from a large number of sources, determining appropriate analytical approach, and identifying actionable recommendations.
  • Support negotiations with key partners, including: cable, digital MVPDs, digital platforms (e.g., Amazon, Microsoft) and services (e.g., Quibi, Vudu) by aiding in creation of proposals, term sheets, and financial analyses
  • Work with Platform Distribution Sales team in support of MVPD, Digital MVPD, transactional and direct-to-consumer distribution strategies
  • Develop network or service-focused analyses for distribution opportunities and conduct ongoing analyses around key business drivers, industry trends, new business models and strategies
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of content distribution and the competitive landscape for networks (e.g., ABC, ESPN), transactional, and direct-to-consumer (e.g., Disney+ and ESPN+).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with diverse group of partners within Disney Media Distribution as well as across the organization with Legal, Finance, Network Groups, Research, and DTCI in order to collaborate on key analyses and deal issues / goals and drive decisions.
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience and/or education equivalent within analytical, financial, strategic and/or business development fields
  • Understanding of content distribution landscape, competitors and of current trends in the media industry
  • Proven financial/business analytical skills, including Excel modeling experience
  • Strong written and verbal skills, including PowerPoint presentation experience
  • Proven ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Prior experience in media, technology, consulting, corporate strategy and/or subscription business models
  • Prior experience in contract review and interpretation
  • Bachelor’s degree required
The Analyst, Business Strategy and Development role applies ingenuity, creativity and analytical skills in identifying, creating, and evaluating sales strategies and tactics to advance the content distribution business across multiple platforms and products. This role is within the Direct to Consumer and International segment as a part of the Disney Media Distribution department, which is responsible for the domestic distribution and licensing of the Disney and ESPN television networks, direct-to-consumer applications, and Electronic Home Video / Video-on-Demand content. The Analyst role will focus on developing network and service-focused analyses of distribution opportunities and areas of competitive advantage. In addition, the Analyst role will conduct analyses of key business drivers for partners, platforms and competitors, as well as uncover and communicate emerging trends and identifying new opportunities and distribution strategies across the broader ecosystem. Finally, the role will work hand-in-hand with the Platform Distribution Sales team and play a critical role in evaluating deal proposals and developing negotiation strategy for cable, satellite, telco, and digital accounts.
Required Education :
  • Bachelor’s degree required
