The Merchant Experience team works on building new and important experiences for our client's merchants. These experiences tend to associate and coordinate multiple domain areas and teams with a potential large impact on the business. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for bringing these experiences from vision to reality. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct, tangible impact on our product and work on projects that are pivotal to their company’s growth.
We are much more than our job descriptions, but here’s where you will begin….
Build our core systems that serve our customers, merchants, risk engines and core payment processing.
Contribute to our large-scale applications written primarily in Java, Kotlin and Python.
Build new merchant facing frontends written with React JS.
Work closely with our cross-functional teams consisting of designers, product managers, and QA in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Mentor team members with less experience.
Actively participate in the development and maintenance of Afterpay standards for software development, testing, release management and reviews.
Continuously improve team processes.
- 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer, with significant leadership exposure.
- Experience with architecting and tech-leading full-stack projects.
- Experience with backend service development and distributed systems.
- Experience with ReactJS or other popular modern web frameworks.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and continuous integration.
- Enthusiastic about solving business problems with technology and can take ownership of an end-to-end solution
- Passionate about continuously learning new technologies, frameworks, and services.
- Possess an execution mindset and the ability to deliver with cross-functional teams that are globally distributed.
- BA/MS/PhD in computer science or a related field preferred.
