Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman, a top entertainment business management firm in Los Angeles, is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join our team of dedicated professionals in our firm's home office in Century City.
The CIO is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Century City. You will maintain control of all Information Technology, Information Security, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity Risk Management across 8 locations globally including: Los Angeles (Century City, Westwood, and Encino), New York (White Plains and NYC), Nashville, Wilmington, and London. The goal of the CIO position is to create business value through technology, provide exceptional leadership, and ensure the confidentiality, Integrity, and availability of systems and data.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand their technical needs and recommend innovative solutions to create business value through information technology
  • Execute clear strategic and roadmap planning of IT solutions that align with business goals and objectives and provide efficiencies, availability, enhanced security, or business value
  • Identify and report on key metrics for operational, delivery, organizational, and financial objectives
  • Advise management, risk committees, and board of directors on risks, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with technology, cybersecurity, regulations, operations, and other risk areas as appropriate
  • Oversee the information security, cyber compliance, and enterprise risk management functions including regulatory compliance e.g. CCPA, GDPR, SOX 404(b) and GLBA
  • Maintain the security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of restricted and internal data according to the company's data classification and data security policies and standards
  • Oversee the regulated data privacy program to ensure applicable laws are adhered to and the data owned by clients and employees are secured using compliant policies, standards and procedures
  • Develop a business continuity plan and enhance the disaster recovery plan and incident response plan to provide timely and effective restoration of IT systems and business functions in the event of a disaster or breach
  • Direct the build, implementation, execution and maintenance of major systems and infrastructure projects using clear plans including procedures, deadlines and accountability
  • Manage IT third-party software and hardware suppliers and service providers including a formalized vendor risk management program
  • Oversee network infrastructure, network security, and application support to ensure optimal uptime performance and security
  • Operationalize effective cybersecurity processes for vulnerability management, penetration testing, system patching, intrusion detection and prevention, security operations, DLP etc. Maintain effective teams and capabilities to Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover from cyber threats and events
  • Create a vision and mission for the IT function that supports the business strategy
  • Interview, hire, and train employees to ensure an effective, competent and qualified IT team
  • Direct all IT activities, set priorities, objectives, and schedules and review work plans as necessary
  • Provide direction, coaching, performance reviews, and leadership to the IT team
A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Exceptional technical leadership acumen and 10+ years of information technology management experience including cybersecurity best practices and compliance
  • Ability to drive organizational change and build capabilities that optimize operational efficiency and deliver innovative IT solutions
  • A highly organized, analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to manage effective IT teams and problem-solve in a flexible environment
  • Gravitas and the ability to form relationships and lead conversations with partners, vendors, clients, employees and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of cross-functional direct reports
  • The ability to turn aspirational goals into reality by pairing high-level thinking with strong execution
  • Exceptional time management skills and accountability
  • Knowledge of the financial services technology industry including highly regulated areas (SOX, GLBA etc.)
  • General understanding of VM environment with Microsoft OS
  • Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity threats, risk management, principles and methods
  • Knowledge of NIST cybersecurity and ITIL technology operations standards
  • Experience with data centers, business continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity and other technology infrastructures and processes
  • Experience developing and maintaining IT and security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Experience with large consulting firm serving CIO/CTO clients a plus
  • Knowledge of Business Management Systems preferred (DataFaction a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree required
