Are you a licensed financial Advisor with exceptional sales and customer service skills? Would you like to work in a challenging and varied work environment?

We’d like to welcome a Financial Advisor to work with LBS Financial Credit Union and LPL Financial, responsible for combining personal skills, resources and product knowledge for the purpose of helping Member clients realize their financial goals. In this role you will have access to a full range of wealth building, managing and preserving products including; mutual funds, stocks, bonds, IRAs, insurance, and many other services to offer to our client base.

  • Must be a highly organized self-starter with the ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Possess the ability to attract Member clients, provide exceptional service and close business with said Members.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective, compliant and professional presentations to prospects and branch employees.
  • Have a solid understanding of retirement and investment industry trends, concepts, products and practices, and a commitment to maintaining that knowledge.
  • Have the experience to successfully assess and provide individualized, highly strategic retirement & investment consulting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Vice President of Branch Operations this position is responsible for analyzing investment opportunities, building Member client relationships and developing strategies to meet their financial goals. Visibility to Members and the frontline teams that generate your referrals is essential. You will be based in the Cerritos Branch and expected to support a branch coverage schedule determined by you and your direct manager. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze investment opportunities and member client needs, and recommend appropriate strategies.
  • Prepare the required paperwork to open brokerage accounts, mutual funds, annuities, etc.
  • Build member client relationships based upon developing strategies to attain their financial goals through the use of financial planning and wealth management.
  • Coordinate member client review schedule, client surveys and newsletters.
  • Work closely with front line employees in identifying opportunities for referrals.
  • Create a sales and marketing strategy for new member client relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations/seminars to members and prospects for business development purposes.
  • Attend designated trainings to stay current about products, services and policies.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The general work schedule is Monday – Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm. Please note that this position requires some flexibility; ability to work evenings, weekends, and early morning as needed. Travel as needed using personal transportation.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. /B.S.) in a related field, such as Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, or a combination of training, education, and experience considered equivalent.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ of business experience and demonstrated track record of successful sales in a financial institution.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 (or 66 in lieu of a 63 and 65) required.
  • A valid California State Department of Insurance Life Agent License required.
  • Solid understanding of retirement and investment industry trends, concepts, products and practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Impeccable interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office software, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must be able to learn to proficiently operate transaction, data, information, training software platforms provided by the credit union’s chosen third-party broker/dealer.
  • Requires good memory and knowledge retention skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Must be willing to travel, and have access to personal transportation.
  • Position may require working some evenings, early mornings and weekends.
