Sr. Software Engineer @ ATS Automation Tooling Systems - Irvine, CA

Job Description

As a member of the software engineering team, the Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for developing new UI and software control for instruments, and maintaining existing software products out in the field. Candidates should have a strong background in Windows desktop development (Winforms) and experienced debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Biodot’s core software products.
• Work with business development and sales team to gather customer requirements and implement them.
• Work closely with R&D group to develop new dispensing technology.
• Provide global support. Remote or on-site debugging of software/system for systems and instruments out in the field.
• Document and track software deployment.
• Maintain and improve Biodot’s software development process.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Experience working with and communicating with serial devices (RS-232, Modbus, TCP/IP).
• 5-7 years professional experience in .NET programming (C# or VB.NET) or demonstrated capability in full stack development in both UI/UX and code implementation.
• Experience with multithreaded applications.
• Familiarity with SQL database and understanding of basic queries (SELECT, JOIN).
• Ability to work on complex tasks with minimal technical guidance.
• Excellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills and sense of ownership.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with liquid handling systems.
• Experience with 3rd party Winforms component (DevExpress).
• Experience working with motion controller, I/O module, and vision development (NI Vision).
• Electronics/Electrical Engineering or other STEM background.
