This is an immediate vacancy. The Center Supervisor helps the manager/owner run the day-to-day operations of this retail location. He or shewill be required to open and close the store, help manage productivity and ensure the team delivers world-class customer service to all customers, monitor cost control and expenses, and contribute to weekly and monthly reports developed by the manager. The store SV is involved with profit/loss, continuous improvement, service delivery levels, personnel management, and business development.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (college coursework or a degree preferred), one year of The UPS Store operations experience, Notary Public, strong supervisory/managerial/leadership skills, excellent computer/internet/software knowledge, the physical ability to perform this job (lifting, bending, etc.), and knows how to listen, follow, lead, and help the manager attain defined targets. He or she must have a dynamic personality and must be able to help motivate a team to optimize performance. This is a part-time position, and candidates must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule of 30+ hours per week that may span Monday through Saturday.

  • Helps with personnel training, scheduling, and coaching associates
  • Monitors, evaluates, and helps maximize customer service delivery and customer satisfaction

  • Helps manage Center financials and prepare/provide reporting
  • Manages inventory
  • Helps oversee Center maintenance, including cleanliness, safety, and organization
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Helps with month-end and year-end closings and prepares various reports
  • Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately following company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Organizes and maintains up-to-date financial records
  • Performs accounting clerical duties such as filing and copying, sending out past due correspondence, sorting and distributing incoming mail, etc.
  • Operates office equipment including personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and 10-key calculators
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
  • Empathizes and manages demanding, impatient, and/or frustrated customers to turn a stressful event into a positive experience
  • Manages the logistics of small to medium projects, follows through to completion, and updates all parties as needed
  • Open and/or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting, etc.
  • Packages shipments for safe arrival, including assembling stock boxes, building custom boxes, and properly cushioning contents
  • Produces/designs, proofs, and updates materials for print projects using Adobe and Microsoft Suites for both Mac and PC
  • Takes ownership of customers’ packing, shipping, and/or print problems and offers viable solutions
  • Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions
  • Understands and fulfills the needs of walk-in customers and telephone/email inquiries
  • Develops and maintains accurate customer files based on production work flow
  • Operates and maintains print and finishing equipment
  • Answers phones courteously and provides accurate, detailed information
  • Communicates effectively and continuously practices good listening with customers, co-workers, vendors, and leadership
  • Completes tasks independently in a quick turn environment

  • Expertly operates POS equipment
  • Follows and understands quality guidelines
  • Frequently multi-tasks while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high quality control
  • Helps with other Center functions as needed, such as faxing, copying, laminating, and binding
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment
  • Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Prioritizes and optimizes the work load to streamline the production flow
  • Boxes and ships products when necessary
  • Calls customers to arrange pickup of products
  • Checks in inventory
  • Helps customers with expert boxing and packaging, selling the appropriate products to ship materials safely and efficiently
  • Provides completed documentation for shipping
  • Takes ownership of any shipping problems and offers viable solutions

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Advanced education degree, coursework, or tech school desired
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience at one of The UPS Store locations
  • A minimum of one year supervisory experience at one of The UPS Store locations
  • P&L experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
  • Outstanding phone skills
  • Strong customer service skills and abilities
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Willing and able to work 30+ hours per week for a 6-day work week
  • Notary Public is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
