The Role

Korn Ferry’s market leading Healthcare Services Practice, KF Health, has an immediate need for a Senior Associate in the Executive Search Practice and open to the following locations-LA, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York or San Francisco and able to work in one of our Korn Ferry offices.

Key Accountabilities

.

The primary role of the Senior Associate position is to manage the quality execution of search engagements and support the growth of the KF Health Practice. This position requires extensive personal interaction with senior-level decision makers. Responsibilities for the position include performing the following duties to the highest quality standards:

• Independently building an understanding the issues and opportunities within the client’s industry. • Develop an appreciation of the client’s corporate culture. • Recognize the challenges that are unique to the client’s organization. • Identify, engage, and recruit the candidates who are best suited to lead the way forward. • Specific tasks will vary based on individual searches but may include: - Constructing target lists of companies and candidates. - Identification of appropriate candidates. - Coordinating internal and external research efforts. - Contacting high-potential prospects.


- Writing position specifications. - Conducting candidate interviews. - Conducting reference checks. - Completing detailed status update reports. - Documenting candidate qualifications. • Candidate ID: Providing research in support of candidate identification and business development activities of the local office or specialty practice. Develops appropriate candidate “target” lists for using the phone, print materials and a wide range of online information resources. • Internal/External Call Participation: Attends kick-off meetings, suggests possible targets and attends client briefings/meetings when possible; attends or listens in on all applicable sector and practice meetings/calls. • Focus on Client and Candidate Service: Develops a full understanding of the search and the research needs of internal clients; develops confidence and trust of both internal and external clients. • Ideal candidates will combine industry expertise, professional services skills, and the ability to advocate on behalf of clients, candidates and the firm for the advancement of client and firm interests.

Senior Associates are included in business development activities and are encouraged to develop in-depth knowledge of specific industry sectors. This includes developing a perspective on competitive landscapes, understanding market influences, staying current with news and events, tracking share performance and explaining relevant trends.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to engage with individuals and understand, evaluate and articulate motivations and organizational dynamics. He or she will be client-centric and willing and able to establish, build and sustain client relationships. This individual will have a “can do” attitude and insight into client needs while maintaining focus on achieving exceptionally high quality and detailed results in a fast-paced environment. He or she will be a collaborative, supportive, trustworthy and generous team-player, who learns quickly, is intellectually hungry and curious. The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills. • The willingness and drive to manage a demanding workload, balance multiple tasks and priorities and meet highly aggressive project goals in a timely fashion. • Experience working successfully within an integrated, team-oriented environment. • Personal maturity and business acumen that leads to confident and rational decision making. • Strong presentation skills and in-command demeanor consistent with a top-tier professional services environment.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • The successful candidate will have three to seven years of professional experience and ideally, will have had exposure to retained search or have experience with a consulting firm or in a Healthcare Corporate Talent Acquisition role.
  • In addition to having excellent communication skills, oral, written and listening, the candidate must possess the ability to make presentations at the executive levels of client companies.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects effectively is most important. The ideal candidate must be self-confident and self-motivated, dynamic, accomplished, and viewed as an individual who can advance within Korn Ferry.
  • Successful candidates will be highly motivated, have good judgment and possess superior interpersonal and evaluative skills. He/She will take direction well, be detail oriented and able to work well under deadline.
  • The Associate/Senior Associate will be as comfortable working independently as they are part of a team.

EDUCATION & SKILLS
An undergraduate degree or equivalent is required; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
