Job Description

ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) headquartered in El Segundo, CA. This position, located in El Segundo, will be part of the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering & Integration Team (MSEIT) supporting the Air Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art global secure, survivable, and protected communications systems. This person will develop virtualized software applications to emulate a satellite communications planning and management systems from within a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. Duties include:
  • Participate and collaborate daily in scrum meetings
  • Explore new ideas, propose and develop solutions
  • Review, update, improve the proposed design
  • Code proposed designs

Qualifications Required (Skills)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience
  • Full Stack Web Development experience – 1+ years
  • Python – Working knowledge
  • JavaScript – Working knowledge
  • Representational State Transfer (REST) API – Working knowledge
  • Angular or similar front end framework – Familiar
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies
  • Ability to work with a team in a collaborative environment
  • Microsoft Office – Proficient
  • Oral/written communications (oral briefings, authoring documents) – Proficient
  • MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN. YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU DO NOT MEET THIS REQUIREMENT

Qualifications Desired

  • Knowledge of Python WSGI Webserver frameworks (django, pyramid, flask)
  • UML or SysML for architectural diagrams – Familiar
  • Virtualization (Containers, Virtual Machines) – Familiar
  • Experience working with WebSocket Servers
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
