Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mid-Level to Senior MS SQL Server Developer/Administrator and production systems analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server development, analysis, administration, optimization, and tuning. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our database systems as well as providing support and deep-dive data analysis to our most critical production applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of company databases
  • Applications monitoring and maintenance. This includes providing day-to-day support, identify issues/potential problems and responding quickly to developer escalation production issues (after hours as needed)
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Leverage advanced technical skills to conduct research and develop solutions to address specific application/business needs.
  • Maintain application security compliance and adherence to ISO270001 certifications.
  • Administer SQL Server databases, ensuring their availability, performance, security, and recovery.
  • Work to ensure that the proper hardware resources are allocated to the databases, and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning.
  • To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
  • Responsible for providing trend analysis to the management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
  • Responsible for assisting developers to optimize, tune and enhance database queries
  • Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Analyze production issues, determine root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Analyze database growth and ensure the system is prepared for future scalability.
  • Propose and implement database optimization and tuning strategies.
  • Monitor and manage data replication, backup, and restoration tasks.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in SQL Server technologies.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of in-depth SQL Server Database Development, Analysis and Administration experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft technologies: (SQL Server, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Stored Procedures/Functions, Power BI, SSIS Integrations, .NET, .NET Core, Visual Studio, IIS, etc.).
  • Software development, including object-oriented programming (Java or C#), Web HTML and CSS, Frameworks such as Bootstrap and jQuery.
  • Extensive experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2012/2014/2016/2019 servers on enterprise-class servers clusters running Windows 2012 and higher
  • Practical experience in managing internal and external Microsoft SQL Server database security
  • Understanding of High Availability, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery concepts as they relate to Open Systems architecture
  • Experience on working with SQL Server in Amazon cloud or/and Azure platform is definitely a plus
  • Experience with SQL Server performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of database structures, principles, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with database migration tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Experience of working with Oracle, MySql, Pervasive SQL or NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of highly transactional web application development using C#, Java, JavaScript and Python are significant plus.
  • Communicating effectively orally and in writing
  • Troubleshooting and correcting operations problems
  • Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects
  • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
