Appointment Dates: Full-time temporary position for 2 years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
Position Description: Under direction from the Dean of the College of Engineering, this position provides oversight and management of the CSULB's self-support engineering program at Antelope Valley. The incumbent will oversee budget and administrative tasks. Plan and execute effective outreach and recruiting programs. Implement an effective student success program. Coordinate development and fund raising activities. Coordinate class schedule and curriculum with main campus, College of Engineering and College of Professional & International Education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a multicultural, fast paced environment. Excellent fundraising and budgeting skills. Strong leadership and management skills. Knowledge and experience in managing a program or department (preferrably self-supporting program/department).
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience: BS and MS degrees with at least one degree in engineering or a closely related field required. PhD. preferred. Five or more years of managerial experience in engineering or a closely related field. Experience in engineering based industries/agencies in the Antelope Valley desired. Experience in coordinating class scheduling and curriculum.
