Director, Network Engineering and Operations- Los Angeles North Market

Job Description:
The Director, Network Engineering and Operations – Los Angeles North Market will be responsible for managing all aspects of RF Engineering, Site Development, Field Operations and Switch Operations across the San Fernando Valley and Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern and Inyo Counties markets comprising almost 1,600 cell sites, 1 switch location and 1.8 Million customers. The role requires a leader with a competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus and inspirational leadership.
The Director will lead approximately 55 FTEs, 5 to 10 contractors, and multiple vendor partners as well as strategic business relationships with internal and external peers and partners, including Sales, Regional and National Engineering partners and Infrastructure Suppliers and Vendors. Their responsibilities include oversight of Field and Switch network operations, RF design and optimization and performance, and development of market’s new cell sites and all modification work to existing sites.
More specifically, this role will assume the following responsibilities:
  • Lead a high performing team including the following direct reports: Sr. RF Engineering Manager, Sr. Site Development Manager, Sr. Operations Manager, Sr. Administrative Assistant and related departments.
  • Management of annual market capital and operating budgets and assures fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Oversee the design, evolution and optimization of the wireless network.
  • Ensure compliance with all FCC, FAA, and local State and National regulations.
  • Oversees site selection, site acquisition, local regulatory processes and civil construction related to network evolution and expansion.
  • Keen focus on network performance and reliability leading to the highest quality customer experience.
  • Enhance partnership with Retail, Partner and Business Sales team to a drive Company growth.
  • Build, develop and motivate a high caliber, team-oriented engineering and operations organization that promotes excellence and rewards results.

  • Extensive experience with telecommunications network engineering and operations.
  • Strong operational leader who can effectively collaborate with the multiple stakeholders.
