Summary



The Director, Operations Command Center and Engineering is responsible for developing, enhancing and monitoring infrastructure, applications and processes to support the growth of the business and to promote a highly available and stable computing environment. Responsible for the monitoring, alerting and escalations for all infrastructure components, applications and processes. The managers of operations (OCC) and the engineering (enterprise monitoring) groups will report directly to this position.



Responsibilities:


  • Ensure continual process improvement of the OCC including but not limited to automation of OCC tasks and reporting, implementation of enterprise-wide monitoring initiatives, and routine administration tasks.
  • Generate key reports for management in regards to system availability, service level agreements, uptime, etc. Ensure the accuracy of reports and delivery of reports to key management in a timely manner.
  • Continual observation of Green Dot’s monitoring systems. Respond to alerts from any system, determining the cause, and resolving or escalating as necessary.
  • Record outages for daily review and sending outage notifications internally and externally.
  • Review daily the OCC Shift Turnover Reports.
  • Oversee Datacenter support for issues escalated from Customer Service, Development or Partners. Service these requests by researching, troubleshooting, or escalating as documented.
  • Review of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), changes to SOPs and development of new SOPs. Ensure proper review and training for OCC staff when changes to operational procedures occur.
  • Monitor work queues to ensure 100% compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Ensure that Operators are working issues as efficiently and accurately as possible.
  • Display strong understanding of organizational culture and practices, incorporate organizational awareness into decision making, utilize both formal and informal channels to achieve results and build alliances across the organization.
  • Solicit and accept input from others, share information or expertise with others, operate as a team player, leverage the expertise of others and finding a common ground to solve problems with peers.
  • Develop workable implementation plans, communicate changes effectively, build commitment and overcoming resistance, prepare to support those affected by change and monitor transition and evaluate results.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as needed.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Eight to ten (10) years of Information Technology experience preferably in the Financial Services industry; prior experience leading a OCC will be a big plus
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in managing IT staff
  • Strong experience in managing multiple teams and cross divisional clients
  • Mature Customer Service and communication skills are a must.
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and instilling a strong process discipline in the team,
  • Must be adept at troubleshooting and prioritization
  • Advanced knowledge of computer networking and systems engineering including Windows Server, SQL Server, SAN, Cisco Routers/Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, HP Servers as well as other industry standard technologies
  • Must have strong initiative and be an independent thinker
