EVgo is seeking a leader to manage the engineering process and best practices for all EVgo projects from permitting through construction and commissioning. The individual will be responsible for managing internal and external resources to produce project engineering deliverables and support resolution of engineering issues occurring with projects in the design/build phase of the project.
The Director of Project Engineering will handle all technical coordination with the Project Management and Construction team by ensuring high quality engineering deliverables for permitting and construction. The main focus will be to manage engineering contractors during the detailed design phase and to provide construction support of EVgo’s supplied technology in the field.
70-90% of the time is spent in the office environment utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project), phones, and general office equipment. 10-30% will be visiting sites as needed for complex RFI resolution and meeting with contract engineering companies.


  • Manage and track the engineering deliverable for the pipeline of projects which have been approved to move forward into Construction, providing reports of engineering status, RFIs, and Change Orders.
  • Create a standardized approach to document control, project management tools and protocols and procedures for how they are utilized.
  • Oversee the creation and review of engineering deliverables from contract engineering companies through the various levels of design phases going into Construction: CD60%, 90%, IFC, and As-builts and job closeout.
  • Track lessons learned on projects to be incorporated into conceptual designs whether related to technology or AHJ specific requirements for certain regions.
  • Establish standardized designs and specifications for all EVgo projects as they pertain to constructability, obtaining permits, public safety, ADA and site fit and finish.


  • Electrical Engineering Degree, PE highly preferred
  • 10-years minimum experience, 5-years management level experience
  • Utility, Renewables, High Voltage Engineering Industry Experience
  • Working knowledge of Procore or similar project management and document control system
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal communication and management skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player.
