Position Summary:


Responsible for overseeing a team of Software Engineering Managers and developers to build enterprise software solutions for the Technology Solutions Team. Leads the team by proving guidance and direction to ensure high quality and efficient software solutions are developed for business problems. Manages the team’s design and implementation efforts. Defines development plans and mentors team members to ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.


Responsibilities:

  • Plans business objectives and sets the department’s expectations by providing direction to the team on multiple software development projects using the .NET framework and C#.
  • Stays current with new technologies and identifies opportunities for innovative ideas in regards to technology selection to ensure best practices and technologies are being used.
  • Works with management to define business requirements and communicate software engineering project progress, ensuring projects align with business needs.
  • Researches and selects implemented systems that are cost-effective, scalable, high performance and reusable.
  • Provides technical guidance to members of the team as appropriate.
  • Responsible for recommending final hiring and termination decisions, overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of employees. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning and directing work; managing performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the Mortgage industry preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) + years of management experience preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) + years of experience developing applications on the .NET framework using C#, developing web services, SQL database development, and developing client-server and enterprise-level systems.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position.
  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge in service-oriented design and development.
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of design patterns.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions that have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules on a short-term and long-term basis.
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.
  • Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed.
  • Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field required and a minimum of eight (8) + years’ experience working in a similar field.
