NCI is looking for a
Senior - Computer Hardware Engineer to support the design, implementation, monitoring, management, change management, software upgrades, problem/incident resolution, and root cause analysis of GSA’s Mobile Devices. The Computer Hardware Engineer shall perform Level 3 / Tier 3 Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineering and Administration of applicable mobile devices to include all phases of the life cycle, including review, testing, implementing security and compliance, cellular service plans, troubleshooting and device recycling. Currently GSA’s mobile device environment includes a mix of both Android and Apple iOS devices and includes flip phones, smartphones, and tablets. GSA MDM solutions include MaaS360, Google MDM, and Apple DEP.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Computer Hardware Engineer shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities:
- Define the technical requirements for the selection and implementation of the MDM solution, working with partners to identify the best MDM solution to meet requirements, and leading the implementation in a phased approach
- Create, configure, and maintain security policies on the MDM, ensuring enforcement
- Understand MDM reporting capabilities and provide weekly reports to Senior Management
- Collaborate with other team members in the Software Development Lifecycle processes including reviewing, designing and testing
- Device Configuration Management and troubleshooting using Enterprise management tools using IBM MaaS360 and Google Advanced Device Management for Android and iOS
- Integrate email service with enterprise messaging system or cloud email service
- Managing device security
- Support ordering (including replacement devices, and additional features or requesting call detail records), receiving, activating, configuring, and deploying devices
- Resolving operational problems and apply O/S updates
- Escalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government
- Produce knowledge base articles, work instructions, and SOPs
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 - 12 years of experience or at least 9 years of relevant experience without degree
- Research, design, develop, or test computer or computer-related equipment for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use
- May supervise the installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components
- Provides technical/management on major tasks or technology assignments. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge
- Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met. Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management
- Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation
- Plans and leads major technology assignments
- Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
- Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success
- Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable
- Google Certified Collaboration Engineer certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Travel, less than 10%
- This position requires a Public Trust Clearance
Contract desired qualifications include:
- 3 + years of Experience in managing IBM MaaS360 System to manage mobile devices
- 3+ years Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) administration experience
- To be successful in this position, the candidate must also display excellent teamwork skills, written and oral communication skills, and formal documentation skills
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Apps, Google Docs, Sheets, Chat and Meet
- Working knowledge with IT Service now, managing tickets, knowledge base and reports.
- Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled
- Shall possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients
- Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments
- Familiarity with the following technologies: Active Directory, Windows, ServiceNow, Network Monitoring Systems (SolarWinds or similar)
- ITILv4 Foundation certification
- Security+ certification
