We are looking for an experienced VP of Engineering to manage a diverse application development team. The responsibilities of a VP of Engineering include leading a team of developers and engineers, collaborating with product leadership, and improving company policies and standards.
To be successful as a VP of Engineering, you should have prior organizational leadership experience, be able to collaborate with team members strategically and technically, and be a strategic problem-solver. Ultimately, a top-notch VP of Engineering should demonstrate excellent technical and communication skills to be able to connect with other engineers and developers.
What you’ll do:
- Manage application development team leaders, establish clear goals, motivate, and oversee coaching and career development.
- Provide guidance and standards for the planning and prioritization of resource conflicts, customer demands, and customer support issues to ensure the successful delivery of the committed product roadmap every quarter.
- Be responsible for Engineering OKRs that are assigned to the application development team.
- Oversight of technical processes from design through development, testing, and deployment to ensure the software comes to life as designed and moves smoothly to production.
- Work with the engineering managers to establish and maintain standards, design patterns, and frameworks for future projects.
- Work with application development managers to ensure that analysts, project managers, and product owners are providing appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products and projects effectively.
- Proactively study and analyze other technologies, standards and practices for continuous improvement and to ensure quality of implementation.
Requirements What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree or professional certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years software engineering management.
- Minimum of 10 years experience designing, developing and delivering software products.
- Knowledge of SaaS operations, and modern technical SaaS tools and how to use and integrate with them.
- Extensive experience with modern web technologies and approaches on the Client-Side in JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular, and on the Server-Side in NodeJS frameworks like Express or NestJS, Cloud Engineering in AWS or GCP, OOP design patterns, and database design patterns and usage in relational SQL systems like MySQL or Postgres.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus.
