SUMMARY
Analyzes, designs, develops, tests and implements technical solutions in response to a business need or problem.

Reports to an IT Manager, Supervisor, or Lead. Works closely with end users and IT personnel to provide business analysis and technical solution implementations that support the business goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES Meets with internal users to understand business needs or problem statement. Creates list of requirements and objectives. Conducts technical analysis and assembles a list of possible solutions. Works closely with IT supervision and technical team for vetting feasibility of possible solutions. Presents proposed solution to users and secures buy-in. Works closely with IT supervision and IT PMO team to create project plan and schedule. Develops, programs, or configures the technical solution following IT standards and best practices. Conducts and oversees all phases of testing. Creates both technical documentation and user’s documentation. Conducts users training as required. Troubleshoots software and applications. Provides off-hours phone support on a rotation basis. Defines and resolves problems relating to system performance. Participates in lessons learned and continuous improvement activities Understands and adheres to IT change management processes. Takes on special projects as directed by IT leadership.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education/experience is required. Professional experience in an Analyst/Programmer role is required. Experience with developing technical solutions using COBOL, JCL and IMS DB/DC is required. Experience with mainframe utilities such as IEBGENER, SORT, FileAid, IDCAMS is preferred. Experience supporting mainframe applications in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience with supporting Windows based applications interfacing with the mainframe is preferred. Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative development environment is required. Positive attitude toward customer service is required.
Demonstrates strong analytical and organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to review and optimize a system. Ability to analyze and develop new systems. Ability to analyze software packages against requirements.
Must be self-motivated and take a proactive approach to responsibilities.
Ability to work effectively with various groups in developing solutions to problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work primarily conducted in an office setting with good lighting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, or controls, and to talk and hear. Must be physically able to walk to all yard locations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay Scale : $57,700 - $159,500

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
