THIS IS AN ENLISTMENT FOR ACTIVE DUTY IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY AS A NUCLEAR OPERATOR
Description:
• Individuals over the age of 27 are typically not eligible for this position. A waiver may be granted for highly qualified candidates.
•Includes paid training (starting pay of $50,000+ per year), competitive salary, accelerated advancement, bonuses of up to $120,000, full medical/dental/vision coverage, 100% tuition assistance, 30 days paid vacation per year, retirement pension, free certifications, excellent job security and potential for world travel.
•Qualified candidates are eligible for loan repayment of college loans up to $65K
•The training for this position was developed by MIT and earns 77+ college credits accepted at all colleges and universities. Up to 95 college credits for those interested in mechanical engineering and chemistry training pathway.
Qualifications:
•Must be a US Citizen to qualify.
•Must be high school graduate or have GED.
•Must have completed one year of high school algebra and have had good academic performance in high school.
•Cannot have been charged with a felony.
•This position is perfect for individuals seeking training and experience in the fields of electrical, mechanical or nuclear engineering as well as advanced electronics.
This position will provide you with extensive training as a nuclear propulsion plant operator and technician- Training for this program will provide a comprehensive understanding of a pressurized-water Naval nuclear power plant, including reactor core nuclear principles, heat transfer and fluid systems, plant chemistry and materials, mechanical and electrical systems, and radio-logical control.
You will learn to interpret schematic diagrams and use appropriate test equipment to isolate and correct faults in electronic systems as well as learn to operate electrical equipment using controllers, and to properly test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits, motors, cables, circuit breakers, and other related electrical equipment for power distribution.
