POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a candidate to join our team in creating outstanding digital experiences for our Associates and Members. The candidate will work closely with other Associates to identify opportunities for improving the digital services that we offer our Associates and Members. Ideal candidates will be able to lead other developers by examples, communicate complex software designs in a simple manner and organize the vast amount of information given through daily
operations, in addition to having solid software
engineering discipline and good problem solving skills. The candidate MUST have credit union and Symitar PowerOn development experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform software development and maintenance activities across the Symitar core banking platform and associated enterprise applications.

Lead requirement and design discussions by introducing best practice examples.

Translate business requirements to technical solutions by applying technical knowledge and strong business acumen.

Lead continuous and incremental refactoring efforts by providing insightful code review feedback to other Software Engineers.

Develop and maintain engineering specifications for software programs and applications.
-
Understand and consistently apply secure system design and coding concepts.
-
Leverage and apply continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) and DevSecOps practices to improve team productivity and reduce errors.
-
Assess requirements specifications, and provide accurate level of effort estimates.
-
Apply knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service.
-
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience/ Training/ Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related technical field.
-
3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer working with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-scale business solutions and frictionless member / user experiences.
Must have strong
software development skills (
design, implementation, and testing) and be able to adopt new programming languages quickly.
-
3+ years of hands-on development experience with Symitar PowerOn, SymXchange, PowerFrame.
-
Working knowledge of development platform / programming languages such as .NET, C#, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Java, JavaScript, React.js, React Native, Figma and InVision, headless CMS, HTML5 is a highly preferred.
-
1+ year of hands-on experience of integration framework / architecture such as API, micro-services (REST / SOAP or JSON / XML).
-
Good understanding of Agile software development and DevSecOps practices.
-
Ability to solve complex requirements with straight forward, elegant solutions.
-
Some relational database experience is a plus (such as Microsoft SQL Server).
Working knowledge of code repository and version control (such as Git).
-
Experience working with project management applications such as Teams, Jira, Pivotal Tracker, ClickUp.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Experience in a financial institution is required.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations as they relate to credit union.

Knowledge of credit union rules, regulations, and policies.

Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing and excellent telephone manner.

Ability to speak and hear to give and receive instructions and information to others in person and over the telephone. Other language skills helpful.

Intermediate to advanced personal computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft programs and other leading business/collaboration tools.

Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations.

Ability to create and maintain accurate reliable records.

Good memory, knowledge retention skills, and ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and duties effectively.

Physical and Environmental Elements:

Vision sufficient to read instructions, procedures, source documents, reports, files, and information on video display terminals.

Manual dexterity to write and operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer.

Body mobility to move to and from different work areas to access materials to perform the essential functions.

Ability to bend and stoop to reach files/shelves including the strength to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds, also to pull and push open file cabinet drawers. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to work a flexible schedule; this may include evenings, early morning, and weekends at times.
The targeted hourly range is $41.69 - $62.53. Final offer will be determined based on experience, education, training/certifications and specialized skills.
