Summary: As an integral part of the development team, the CNC Programmer will be responsible for bringing designs to reality on our state-of-the-art CNC equipment, including multi-axis milling, turning and mill turn machines. Devises methods to reduce setup and cycle times through the evaluation and execution of process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilizing CAD models or blueprints, creates CNC programs utilizing Mastercam or ESPRIT software and determines the best sequence of machining steps.
- Determines optimal speeds, feeds and cutting tools to achieve quality requirements and repeatability in close tolerance environment.
- Conducts CNC program simulation reviews (program simulation and tool selection) with key stakeholders to ensure programs are optimized prior to first time development runs in Manufacturing.
- Participates in the development process of new jobs at each work center, ensuring a quality repeatable process.
- Proves out new and revised programs on the shop floor to verify accuracy of methods and sequences.
- Creates and maintains custom tool drawings.
- Compiles and maintains setup books for all CNC work centers.
- Participates on RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) teams to conduct 5-why analysis and executes corrective actions.
- Assists quoting team by providing methods, time estimates, and cost data needed to complete customer quotations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least three (3) years directly related CNC Programming experience, utilizing Mastercam and/or ESPRIT, in a close tolerance machining environment required.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience taking products through the complete development cycle in a vertically integrated environment.
- Experience with fixture designs.
- Hands-on manufacturing experience with CNC machine tools (mill, lathe, swiss turn) including multi-axis machining, machine setup, machine operation, and process optimization.
- Experience with other manufacturing processes including EDM, precision inspection, deburring, and assembly.
- Experience with SolidWorks and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for component and tooling design.
- Experience working with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
- Proven multi-tasker that works within timelines and budgets.
- A self-starter that flourishes in a collaborative environment.

- Frequent and repetitive use of hands and fingers to operate machinery equipment.
- Requires frequent visits to the shop floor to access machinery and parts.
- Occasionally moves heavy equipment, boxes, and other materials and tools up to 25 pounds.
