Siemens EDA has an opportunity for an experienced Build Engineer to be part of the Build and Infrastructure Group for their flagship Calibre product. The group works on multiple areas of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) including Source code management, building CI/CD pipelines, setting up and maintaining infrastructure both on-prem and on the cloud, licensing, clearing OSS (Open-Source Software), build and release management.
Responsibilities
- Participate in maintaining and improving the existing Hardware availability.
- Support R&D with any issue related to the Hardware pipelines and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure we achieve stable and reliable systems and solutions.
- Participate in projects to improve the tools and development environments for R&D and QA.
- Migrate applications to and monitor/improve existing hardware deployments
- Provide monitoring and dashboards.
- Create DevOps tools for the functions we are responsible for
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
- Technical degree BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 7+ year’s relevant experience working in an enterprise environment as DevOps engineer.
- Extensive, relevant experience with Linux operating systems.
- Good knowledge and experience with DevOps best practices.
- Strong proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Bash, Python, Golang).
- Capability of maintaining high-availability production systems and large integrated systems is highly desired.
- The candidate must exhibit a service-oriented attitude and be able to work effectively with a worldwide, multi-site development environment.
- The candidate should have a powerful desire for continuous improvement and have a passion for automation and making tasks repeatable.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills are key attributes, including the ability to investigate, isolate and remedy software defects.
- This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to work constructively and productively on a team, as well as alone, is essential.
- The candidate should be resourceful, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative when appropriate.
- Experience with migrating workloads to Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
